Today's fact about the planet Jupiter, opens with the mistaken statement that Jupiter was named after the Roman name for the god who was called Zeus in Germany. In fact, the planet bears the Roman name for the god who was called Zeus in ancient Greece, not Germany. There is enough bad misinformation out there, please factcheck your facts!

The "fact" that English farmers have to provide toys for their pigs is complete hogwash. As is the Monumental Axis holding 160 cars (see wiki). And many more. In fact(!) there appear to be more wrong than right.

Please if you are going to post supposed "random facts" at least verify their validity and don't waste my time. Come on... 1000 phone calls a day. Is there any way this can be verified. I understand that call centers are on the phone the whole day, but more than 1000 calls... is like stretching beyond extremes.

Todays fact says the Interstates were designed to have 1 mile in every 5 straight so planes can land. THIS IS A WELL KNOW MYTH IT ISNT TRUE - AT ALL. Love the facts, but for the cockroach one there's no apostrophe in "its" in this case - you only put an apostrophe in if it means "it is". Regards The pedant
