I also am not getting an updated picture. I use Firefox; I can get the picture on Ronald's test, and get a different picture using artoftheday.jpg, but the gadget does not update. Don't know if it is to do with Firefox or if it is a company network caching issue

I'm using Mozilla Firefox. I've tried Ronald's test: "Please ask your internet provider to update their DNS so that files from the domain static.artbible.info can be displayed. To test, copy/paste this address into your browser's address bar: http://static.artbible.info/thumbs/thomas.jpg." The image loads on the new window, but not inside igoogle. Thanks!

I've enjoyed this gadget more than any other I've had. It adds visual interest and mental stimulation. I also think it's inspired me to be more creative in little ways. The fact that is covers so many art periods and genres is refreshing. Highly recommended.

Not all the pictures on this are hundreds of years ago - some are definitely well within the last century !I think the selection is a good balance of classic and more modern, especially if you are not a hyper-selective art expert. Nothing will ever totally inclusive of everything. I must say, I have tried this as well as other art gadgets and will be sticking to this one due to the scroll feature, the clarity of the image and the good overall selection.

I like having some kind or art picture on my homepage everyday, to educate myself! THis is the only gadget I have found that allows you to scroll up and down and side to side, allowing you to see all the picture and written info about it, especially useful in the google "3 column" setting. Yes, the pictures are classic, but they are timeless masterpieces worth remembering in detail. YOu can always add a gadget for later art should you want it. Very well done, thanks very much!

Not that I dislike Michelangelo and Van Dyck, but this app does art a disservice. The perception that art must be old, Biblical and European is at best misleading and at worst makes art irrelevant. These are not "fresh" pictures as the tagline says, rather they are old and stale. The reproductions chosen are often lousy... dark and of low resolution when expanded. Trust me: Caravaggio looks a lot better than he seems from these pictures. Also, descriptions are cut off, requiring an unnecessary scroll bar. On the other hand, I do appreciate the general format of the app... clean and user friendly without bling.

I don't know if this is the right site to write this, and I haven't found a way to accomplish this, but I WANT MY SIMPLE, HAPPY, MULTICOLORED "GOOGLE" PIC BACK ON THE GOOGLE SEARCH PAGE! I really like art, but I come to Google because it is so uncluttered and I don't want to be distracted by other things right on the home search page, no matter how beautful they are. (Do keep the pics made out of the "Google" title on holidays, etc. They're fun.)

They have some great artworks here... If you're looking for artwork that is not just biblical consider adding the "oil painting of the day" gadget which has works by Monet, Picasso, Van Gogh and many more...

Only displays biblical art. Seems like a hidden attempt to sneak religion into the lives of common users. God does not act deceptively... why should this gadget's author?
