Abstract

The invention relates to a method for verifying user-specific information in a data and/or communications system and to a system of this type in which a number of users communicate with each other and with the operator of the data and/or communications system by means of terminals. A digital directory is allocated to at least a proportion of the users, this directory being stored in a memory unit and user-specific information being stored therein in electronic form. The inventive method represents a particularly simple but reliable means of verifying user-specific information.
