Abstract

A power system includes a housing with a chamber (24), a member (26(2)) with a stored static electrical charge, and a pair of electrodes (30). The member (26(2)) is connected to the housing and extends at least partially across the chamber (24). The electrodes (30) are connected to the housing, are spaced from and on substantially opposing sides of the member (26(2)) from each other, and are at least partially in alignment with each other. The member (26(2)) is movable with respect to the pair of electrodes (30) or one of the pair of electrodes is movable with respect to the member.
