Lots of Tens created by the SIB (Society of Illustrators of Brazil) illustrators... What does it mean...?



A décima - sim, décima! São 10 anos! - edição do mais importante evento sobre ilustração no Brasil começa no dia 18 de Outubro: Estou falando do IlustraBrasil!, que todos os anos reúne trabalhos da mais alta qualidade e engenhosidade, organizado pela SIB, a Sociedade dos Ilustradores do Brasil.

The tenth edition - yes! Tenth edition! Ten years! - of the most important event about contemporary illustration in Brazil will start on October 18th: I'm talking about the IlustraBrasil! Year after year featuring the best of Brazil's illustration scene and organised by the Society of illustrators of Brazil.



E estou participando do IlustraBrasil!10 - sim, dez! Já comentei que são dez anos? - dessa vez com a ilustração que criei para a capa do álbum da banda Hotelo. Essa arte foi uma das vencedoras do Latin American Ilustración 2 e será exposta em NY e agora também poderá ser vista em tamanho "big" pelo público brasileiro aqui no Brasil: Quem quiser ver de perto e conferir em detalhes o "Hotel Espacial", o IlustraBrasil!10 acontecerá no Senac Lapa Scipião, em São Paulo e depois seguirá para o Rio de Janeiro.

And I am one of the 100 illustrators participating in IlustraBrazil!10... This year I sent my artwork for the Hotelo álbum cover: The "Space Hotel"! This very illustration was one of the winners of the upcoming Latin American Ilustración 2 (and will be part of a special art show in NYC). And now the good people in Brazil will be able to see this illo in a very, very big format...! IlustraBrazil!10 will take place in São Paulo before going to Rio.

Revista Educatrix 5 | Educatrix Magazine #5

A Revista Educatrix desse mês traz capa e matéria ilustradas por mim: Na página 22 da edição de Outubro temos um artigo muito interessante sobre as mudanças provocadas pela tecnologia - conectividade e interatividade -  na dinâmica do ensino nas escolas. O espaço real e coletivo da sala de aula interage com os espaços virtuais (e individuais) dos alunos criam um novo tempo e uma nova forma de lidar com o tempo dentro e fora das escolas. É claro que há muito mais nas 8 páginas que compõem a matéria... Você pode ler o texto completo no site da Revista Educatrix.

This month Educatrix Magazine - A Brazilian magazine about education - features cover and main article illustrated by me: The article tells us about how technology changed the dynamic between teacher and student in the school. The real space and its collective time of the classroom interacts with the virtual space and individual time of each student bringing us a new perception and concept of time inside and outside the traditional space of the school. 8 Marcadores Ilustrados | 8 Illustrated Bookmarkers

Olha só! Na semana passada recebi a coleção de marcadores de livro que ilustrei para a Editora Moderna. Cada marcador tem uma ilustração num lado e uma frase - relacionada com educação e leitura - do outro. Tive um prazo bem curto para criar essas 8 ilustrações, mas foi um projeto divertido e gostei muito do resultado final. Abaixo, as 8 ilustrações...

Cool! Last week I received my collection of illustrated bookmarkers that I made for Moderna Publishing House. Each bookmarker has a illustration in one side and a quote - about education and reading books - in the other. The deadline was tight but I have a lot of fun creating these images and I liked the how the bookmarkers turned out. Bellow you can see the 8 illustrations...
