Pete Campos (Democratic Party) is a member of the New Mexico State Senate, representing District 8. He assumed office in 1991. His current term ends on December 31, 2024.
Campos (Democratic Party) is running for re-election to the New Mexico State Senate to represent District 8. He is on the ballot in the Democratic primary on June 4, 2024.[source]
Biography
Campos earned his B.A. in economics and philosophy from the University of New Mexico in 1974, his M.A. in counseling from New Mexico Highland University in 1993, and his Ed.D. in educational leadership from the University of New Mexico, Albuquerque, in 2003.[1]
His professional experience includes working as a high school counselor for Santa Rosa Consolidated Schools from 1978 to 1982, an administrative assistant for the New Mexico State Auditor, a Henry Toll Fellow in 1992, a Flemming Fellow in 1994, the interim/acting superintendent for Las Vegas City Schools from 2003 to 2004, the associate superintendent for supportive services education for Las Vegas City Schools from 1993 to 2004, and the superintendent of Las Vegas City Schools. He also served as the mayor of the City of Santa Rosa from 1986 to 1990.[1]
