Kaka Aiming for Selecao After AC Milan Revival

With the 2014 World Cup quickly approaching, Kaka's revival at AC Milan promises to be one of the summer's fairytale endings.

Snubbed by Jose Mourinho and dumped out of the Selecao squad by Luiz Felipe Scolari, Kaka's career looked to be in tatters, but a remarkable resurrection seems to be taking place at the San Siro.

Kaka's return has taken everyone by surprise and even Scolari had to acknowledge the possibility of a recall for the 31-year-old ahead of Brazil 2014, according to Goal.com.

I was happy with Kaka's decision to sign with the team that gave him the chance to be at his best once more.

I'm watching all Milan fixtures. He can certainly have a good opportunity in the future.

The Brazilian's rise was so meteoric that it seemed inevitable that his fall would come in similar sudden circumstances at Real Madrid, robbing the Brazilian of four years of his career.

The arrival of Carlo Ancelotti gave Kaka a glimmer of hope that he could recapture his form under his former boss, but he would be sidelined once more.

However, a move to Milan was finally pushed through after nearly a year's worth of frustration and difficult negotiations.

Kaka finally returned to Italy and received a hero's welcome from the adoring Rossoneri supporters who still recall the fleet-footed youngster who would destroy defences with a mere swing of his boot.

Many still remember the majestic performance he gave in the 2005 Champions League final as he tore apart Liverpool time and time again before Rafael Benitez intervened with the introduction of Dietmar Hamann.

It was meant to be a peaceful retirement for the former Selecao star, but Kaka, it seems, has a different goal in mind.

A stunning long-range effort against Lazio in the domestic league was followed by a fine performance against Barcelona in the Champions League, where he assisted Robinho for Milan's only goal.

He repeated the trick two weeks later in the reverse fixture with another superb run and cross that ended with Gerard Pique turning the ball into his own net.

And now there are whispers of a return to his old form and with that, a possible return to the Brazil national team.

Such notions persist because of a perceived lack of Number 10s in the Selecao, with Oscar the only heir apparent to Ronaldinho's throne.

But now Ronaldinho is a shadow of his former self, and Kaka supposedly consigned to history never to return to the set up again.

Not so for the Sao Paulo native.

There are scant few games left to prepare for the 2014 World Cup, so a call-up will have to come soon if Scolari intends it.

What a story it would be, though, if Kaka managed to fight his way back into contention for a place in the Selecao ahead of a home World Cup and won it.

It really would be a fairytale ending.
