Saul Bitran, violin, joined the Conservatory in 2019 and is an associate professor of violin. Bitran has been the first violinist of the award-winning Cuarteto Latinoamericano since 1986 and has received some of Mexico and Chile’s highest artistic awards, including the Bellas Artes Medal and Order of Merit Pablo Neruda. Anne Howarth, horn, joined the Conservatory in 2021 and is an assistant professor of horn. She also teaches chamber music and the brass section of the Orchestral Repertoire course. Patrice Jackson-Tilgham, cello, is carving a name for herself as a gifted and charismatic soloist, and is currently an associate professor of cello at Berklee College of Music and Boston Conservatory at Berklee. Rane Moore, clarinet, joined the Conservatory faculty in 2019 as an assistant professor of clarinet. Moore is the principal clarinetist for the Boston Philharmonic and Boston Landmarks Orchestra, and is highly regarded for her thoughtful, provocative interpretations of both standard and contemporary repertoire. Margaret Phillips, bassoon, joined the Conservatory in 2014 and is an associate professor teaching bassoon and contrabassoon. In addition to private lessons, she also teaches reed making, holds a bassoon studio class, and coaches woodwind chamber music ensembles. Aleksandr Polyakov, piano, joined the Conservatory in 2017 and is an instructor of piano. He is a Ukrainian-American pianist and conductor who is rapidly establishing an international reputation for his remarkable virtuosity, command of sonority, and communicative powers. Learn more about Polyakov.
