Celebs love Marchesa

You always remember the first time you fell in love. For me, my love affair with Marchesa began when I saw Jennifer Lopez in the gown above at the 2007 Golden Globe awards. Her sari-style black with gold embroidered trim gown made my heart ache for a similar dress, to the point where I actually had to get my tailor to make me a dress just like it.

Since then, Marchesa dresses and gowns have graced many a red carpet and been seen on countless celebrities at film premieres.

Cheekily we’re giving you two doses of “Style of the Week” this week as we can’t get over how gorgeous Blake Lively looks in this Marchesa creation.

Pictured on the red carpet at the BAFTA “Brits to Watch” in Los Angeles earlier this week, Blake looks stunning in the pale grey dress paired with Christian Louboutin heels and Lorraine Schwartz jewels.

Marchesa Resort 2012

I absolutely LOVE Marchesa. Its one of the first designers I run up to see whenever I am in Harrods. The Resort collection from Marchesa is fit for a princess – a mixture of refinement and restraint with femininity and poise. Soft pastels and citrus colours, coral and peppermint and white provide a myriad of colour whilst a pop of deep teal silks and the odd pop of fuschia complete the collection.

While Marchesa reached absolute high notes in their romance with floor-length chiffon for the Resort collection, they didn’t leave the cocktail hour unaccounted for. A metallic mini and some knee-length versions of their sweeping gowns are statements that are youthful, but without forsaking their Princessly grace. Absolutely stunning!

My Marchesa Love

Out of all the dresses I have come across, there’s always one that sticks in my mind. Recently, it’s been the silk-organza pleated dress from Marchesa that I tried on in Harrods a few months ago.

This Marchesa dress is strapless, has pleated embellishment at bodice, a softly structured internal bodice, asymmetric ruffles at bodice, a tiered ruffled skirt, a concealed zip fastening at back and is fully lined. It is absolutely exquisite!

Browsing on Net-A-Porter earlier I came across the dress in a gorgeous bronze colour. To say that I have fallen in love all over again would be an understatement.

The knife-pleated bronze silk-organza dress with dazzling crystal embellishment is a true show-stopper. *Sigh* I’m off to dream about it now.

My Marchesa Obsession ♥

I love the colour coral. I also love Marchesa. You put the two together and you get my ultimate obsession!

I’m not even going to bore you with words on this post. Can someone please just make sure I get this for Christmas!? Pretty please with sugar on top!

Its available from The Outnet, my favourite online fashion outlet and although I’ll be up trying to get my hand on the Balmain jeans they have at 80% off tomorrow morning, this little gem makes my heart skip a beat! ♥♥♥
