Dear Sir. Or Madam,
I believe children can be much more emotionally sophisticated than we believe and adults can be much more simpler than we like to think.
With that in mind, I've made "The Rest Is Silence" so that it could touch both children and adults. For that matter, this short film has been exhibited in a variety of sites - from festivals in Brazil and the United States to school screenings - and all of them have shown their own understanding and own appreciation of the movie.
This is also a film with no audible dialogues and, for that reason, "The Rest Is Silence" has been shown at a screening specially set for a deaf audience. It has been a pleasure to discover that this short has a strong meaning for these viewers.
With this film, I have tried to achieve a blend of simplicity and deep emotions. I hope it touches you and all of the festival team as well.
Yours sincerely,
Mabel Lopes
