Ata Eterna

A visual ode to childhood accompanied by a narrative that talks about loss. Images revisited in an attempt to reach the past that no longer exists in the author's memory. A essay of intimate and nostalgic reflection that explores his past and the happiness once felt, and that translates today into a deep sense of loss.

Director Biography - José Fernando Pimenta

José Fernando Pimenta (Guimarães, 1995). The attraction for visual arts emerged early, having completed high school in 2015 at IPTA (Instituto Profissional de Tecnologias Avançadas), where he developed the first works of artistic creation in the areas of video, photography and design. Also at the same time he was already filming a group of skaters in Guimarães and in Porto where he deepened his knowledge in street photography and video. In 2018 he was part of the organization of the LIMBO exhibition in Guimarães, which featured artists from the city of Porto, Guimarães and Viana do Castelo. In this context, besides also exhibiting his photographic material he was responsible for the videographic record for documentation and dissemination of the exhibition. He worked with some artists from “Companhia Instável” where he made the videographic regist of some pieces and teasers for web presentation and dissemination of the same.
In the graduation course of Sound and Image he made documentary and biographical video and photography works. At the end of the Degree in Sound and Image he made a non-fiction film or film-poem, something that the author cannot quite define because it is something that wanders between documentary and fiction.
