Mark Ruffalo's 3 Kids: All About Keen, Bella and Odette

Mark Ruffalo is more than just the strongest Avenger — he is also the proud father of three kids.

The Hulk actor and his wife of more than 20 years, Sunrise Coigney, had their first child, son Keen, in 2001. They later welcomed two daughters: Bella in 2005 and Odette in 2007.

Ruffalo told PEOPLE in 2019 that balancing acting, his environmental activism and fatherhood isn’t always easy — especially when tackling the hamper.

“It’s intense. The times when my wife is gone and I’ve had to take care of everything ... the laundry alone is enough to destroy you,” he joked, adding that his wife “is just a hero.”

When he does have downtime, the actor and his family enjoy snowboarding, cooking and gardening. It’s less about the activity, Ruffalo shared, and more about being together.

“I like those moments where you’re just chugging along and then, all of a sudden, your kids open up to you, and you have this deep conversation where they express their troubles — it’s hard for them, especially at that age,” he added. “But my kids are way more savvy than I was, man. They’re so engaged in the world.”

Ruffalo has also opened up about having kids with disabilities. In 2015, he told Vanity Fair that all three children have dyslexia and two have ADHD.

While Keen, Bella and Odette mainly stay out of the spotlight, the trio made brief cameos in 2017’s Thor: Ragnarok, and they've attended several premieres with their famous dad, including for 2013's Now You See Me and 2019's Avengers: Endgame.

In February 2024, Keen and Bella joined Ruffalo at his Hollywood Walk of Fame ceremony. The actor gave his kids a sweet shout-out during his acceptance speech, saying, "You taught me so much about being a parent, being a man, being an actor, and this is your star."

Keen Ruffalo, 22

Ruffalo and Coigney's oldest child and only son, Keen, was born on June 19, 2001, one year after his parents wed.

Ruffalo's eldest hasn't quite followed in his father's footsteps yet, but he has dipped his toe in the acting world, making cameos in two of his dad's projects, Begin Again in 2013 and Thor: Ragnarok.

Keen also sat beside his dad, mom and youngest sister, Odette, when Ruffalo virtually won best actor at the 2021 Golden Globe Awards for his dual role in the HBO miniseries I Know This Much Is True. In his speech, Ruffalo thanked his family for supporting his career.

Keen keeps a low profile online — though he has over 15,000 followers on Instagram, his account is private. He has, however, made red carpet appearances with his famous father. Keen stepped out with his parents for the premiere of Avengers: Age of Ultron and Spotlight in 2015.

Ruffalo has shared sweet messages about his eldest on Instagram. For Keen’s birthday in 2021, the Just Like Heaven actor posted a photo of his son smiling with the caption, "Happy Birthday, Keeno! 20 years to heaven. I’m so grateful you are my boy. I held you in my arms like a treasure. I hold you in my heart like a treasure ... Proud of you son."

The Poor Things star shared a similar sentiment in 2023 with a post featuring a throwback photo of Keen. “22 years and stronger than ever," the actor wrote in the caption.

Bella Noche Ruffalo, 19

Ruffalo and Coigney welcomed their first daughter, Bella Noche, on April 12, 2005.

The Dark Waters actor has said he's proud of her for growing into an individual. “My daughter, Bella, so big and beautiful and coming into her own,” Ruffalo captioned an Instagram photo of his middle child in 2021.

Bella has made a number of red carpet appearances over the years. She was her dad’s date to the 2015 MTV Movie Awards, where the duo wore matching suits, and they paired up again for Roundabout Theatre Company's 2017 Spring Gala in New York City.

In 2022, Bella stuck close to her mom and dad at the premiere of The Adam Project and threw up the heart sign with her dad and older brother Keen at the She-Hulk: Attorney at Law debut.

In honor of Bella's 18th birthday, Coigney shared a sweet message on Instagram. "The day of your birth was one of the most magical days of my life and you have been magical ever since,” the mother of three wrote in part. “We love you and are so proud of you. You have lived twice your age, and have done it style.”

Ruffalo celebrated Bella's milestone birthday as well, writing on Instagram, "Happy 18th birthday @belladogood. You live your life like a comet across the sky—burning bright and beautiful. Keep going kid. So proud of you and who you are as you begin your adulthood. Xoxo.”

Bella graduated from high school in 2023 and she lives in N.Y.C., according to her Instagram bio.

Odette Moon Ruffalo, 16

The youngest of the Ruffalo brood, daughter Odette, was born on Oct. 14, 2007.

When Odette and her siblings visited the set of Thor: Ragnarok in 2017, Ruffalo told Entertainment Tonight the kids “were dressed up as Dr. Seuss characters," and while they enjoyed their day on set, one was all they needed.

"They were like, 'The camera was on us. It was on us.’ They had a great day. They were there all day, which is exactly the experience I want them to have,” the actor said.

Ruffalo added that his kids "love" his superhero role. He told the outlet that his daughter tells her friends at school, “My dad's The Hulk."

Odette has joined her family for a handful of public events. In 2013, she had a playdate with another famous mother-kid duo, Naomi Watts and her son Sasha Schreiber, at an N.Y.C. screening of Frozen. Odette also hung out with her sister, Bella, and mom at a screening of The BFG in 2016.

Coigney has given her youngest a few birthday shout-outs on Instagram. In 2021, she shared that Odette was “always changing, always growing, always cool.” For her 16th birthday in 2023, the mom also posted a video of her daughter with the caption, "HBD. Odette’s sweet 16! You’re so very very loved."
