It’s been a minute and a half since I last did a Sunday Swatch-a-Palooza post. When we last left off swatching our way through my ever-growing stash, we had just looked at the first part of my China Glaze reds. I have to say, we have yet to make a huge dent in my stash; this is going to be a long-term project. Possibly, I should be ashamed of this, but I find I am not. I love these pretty pots of paint too much. They bring me a lot of joy!

Today, I have the second part of my China Glaze reds to share. I will have 9 reds to share in this post.

Rock ‘n’ Royale was part of the Fall 2017 Street Regal Collection.

Y’all!! This is one deliciously rich red. It is deep, dark, and somewhat glam. I love this one in a full manicure. I love it in a pedicure. I love it as a base for stamping, particularly designs in gold. Basically, I just love this one. It’s so “bricky” and dusty and perfect.

Royal Pain in the Ascot was part of the Fall 2017 Street Regal Collection.

Oh, the shimmer on this polish! It is delightful and so pretty, especially in the sun. I love how this one is kind of blackened. It has a beautiful jewel tone to it. I don’t wear this polish often, but I always feel happy when it is on my nails. This one also makes a lovely pedicure.

Ruby Pumps was originally part of the 2009 Wizard of Ooh Ahz Collection.

So this is a classic, iconic China Glaze shade. Clearly, my bottle is not from the original 2009 release, as I was not collecting nail polish back then with the happy obsessiveness I bring to this hobby now. Luckily for me, Ruby Pumps is part of China Glaze’s core line. This is doubly lucky, as this is one of my all-time favorite reds. It is so beautifully rich and glittery. I love it at any time of the year.

Santa Monica Claus was part of the Holiday 2020 Jollywood Collection.

This one is pretty much brand-new to my stash. I remembered to include it in here because I have already done the collection post for Jollywood. It is a lovely tone of red. It seems so vibrant due to the golden shimmer. To me, the golds don’t show up as “shimmer”, but I feel like they make the red that much brighter. At any rate, I like this one quite a bit.

Santa’s Side Chick was part of the Holiday 2017 The Glam Finale Collection.

This is such a pretty and fun red. It is a matte polish, although I find it also looks fabulous with a glossy top coat. I like how the glitters are so delicate and small. They come alive in both the matte and glossy versions. I really hate the name of this polish, though. It makes it sound like Santa is cheating on Mrs. Claus! What? Say it ain’t so!!

Sparkle On was part of the Holiday 2017 The Glam Finale Collection.

Glitter Bomb alert!! This red is so glittery and fun. I love how the glitters are all different sizes but the same shape. And I love how they look through each layer of manicure. The squishy-jelly goodness of the base makes for a delicate and detailed look once everything is dry.

The More the Berrier was part of the Holiday 2016 Seas and Greetings Collection.

So … this one possibly could have gone into my pinks post. It is so right on the edge between red and pink. You can see, in my macro shot, how it can look quite pink at the right angle and in the right lighting. In person, I feel it looks more red. It is shimmery and kind of metallic looking on the nail. I think of this one as a foil finish, but perhaps that is not correct. Still … the brain sometimes goes where it wants. Ha!

Y’all Red-y For This? was part of the Fall 2016 Rebel Collection.

This is such a lively red. I like the color tone of it, which seems to have quite a bit of pink in the undertone. I have worn this polish in a manicure on a few occasions, and I have used it as a pedicure color, too. I find it fun and kind of playful — sort of a lighter and brighter version of what I think of as a more “traditional” looking red.

Yule Jewels was part of the Holiday 2020 Jollywood Collection.

This is another new to my stash polish. I like how this one seems to have a bit more gold or orange in the undertone. To my mind, it gives the finished color a “fiery” look. The glitters are small and delicate. I think they give a nice sparkle, although they do not jump out and grab me by the eyeballs.

THE WRAP-UP:

So that’s a “wrap” for my China Glaze reds! Along the way with this swatching project, I have been working under the caveat that this is a snapshot of my stash at this one particular moment in time. Since I am in a constant state of “buy all the things” (RAWR!), I will sometimes have new stuff in my stash that doesn’t show up in these posts. Anyhow, I was pretty excited that I was able to include a couple of the newest reds in here.

The last time I swatched through my China Glaze reds was back in September 2017, so a little over 3 years ago now. At that time, I mixed my reds and pinks together for the posts. I went back through to count up the true reds, and I had around 8 in my stash at that time. I didn’t destash any of them. This time around, I have a grand total of 17 China Glaze reds. I destashed 1 in my last post, but I still think it’s safe to say my China Glaze stash has grown quite a bit. In fact, it doubled in size over the last three years.
