QUICK AND SIMPLE non-glitchy way to farm Big rings attempts ( FASTER THAN GREEN HILL OR CHEMICAL PLANT )
By Felixinius
It's way faster than Green Hill Act 1, and doesn't use any "out-of-bounds" forced glitch.
Legit way to get to a big ring fast.

About this guide
As the title says, i've found a legit way to farm big rings that usually won't take less than 20 seconds to reach a big ring on each attempt after you've practiced a few times reaching to it and doesn't require forced glitch neither risk to lose lives.

It's on Studiopolis - Act 1.

PLEASE only suggest another one if you actually found a faster way than 12 seconds. Also check if your suggestion has been already given.

Also, i do realize there's the developer menu. This guide is meant to do it for a LEGIT way, not using any kind of feature that's not supposed for players to use.
Where is it?
As said in the intro, Studiopolis - Act 1

It goes without saying that it's required to finish the game at least once on that save slot, so you can restart on any zone whenever you want.

I'll be showing how to get there using SONIC as he's the hardest one to get to that ring. Either Tails and Knuckles can also be used and it's even easier with them.

Step-by-step
Start off by spindashing / peeling out to the RIGHT until you reach here:

It's important to spindash again to the right from this very area, so you get enough momentum to do what we need to easily.

As you reach this point on the image bellow, QUICKLY PULL TO THE LEFT ALL YOU CAN!

If you do it right, you'll bounce off the bumpers and reach here:

Now just spindash again to the LEFT and let your controller free, and you'll reach here. Now just jump.

There you go. Now go after those stupid UFOs!

I can't do it!!!
I believe some people might have trouble getting enough momentum to pull off the trick to bounce off the top of the bumpers, so here are two more ways to get it.

Follow the guide just as it is until the bumpers part, but lean to the right instead, you'll end up here:

Now you can either use tails to fly across (double jump with UP directional held then jump again to grab his arms, now you control him)

OR you could also do it the crazy way by jumping inside the bumper wheel like this and bounce off to the left once the opening allows you to do so. If you hit that stupid yellow spring, just try again.

Video guide
For those who think this is still too "tricky" to pull it off, RealSonicFan managed to find an even quicker way to get the same ring. honestly it takes TWELVE seconds to get there.

Conclusion
I just noticed that i'm horrible on these new special stages even though i'm good enough on either blue spheres or the old half-pipe one from sonic 2. Mostly because i memorized the patterns since childhood though.

So i needed a way to get to big rings fast to spam reattempts. The green hill ones weren't cutting it, so i had to look elsewhere.

PLEASE only suggest another one if you actually found a faster way than 12 seconds. Also check if your suggestion has been already given.

Also, i do realize there's the developer menu. This guide is meant to do it for a LEGIT way, not using any kind of feature that's not supposed for players to use.

Thanks for reading my guide!

i knew that, but i found that when you complete a special course the ring fades and becomes inactive. does this ring not do that?

Because you repeat it over and over. That's the basic concept of "farming" in videogames.
