SNES Super Pro Wrestling

The VWF and VWA promotions have combined to form the new promotion VCW!

The Concept: In late 1991, not long after the launch of the SNES, Nintendo released Super Pro Wrestling. This edit collection will be me making fire pro edits based on the game as if it had really existed. Using 16-Bit inspired edit templates each edit is built of off a 'style base' with customization coming through special moves and finishers, along with heel/face move set differentials. This is intended as the finale to my 'Pro Wrestling Trilogy' which started with NES Pro Wrestling and was followed by NES Pro Wrestling 2.

The six original wrestlers from NES Pro Wrestling will return along with the six new wrestlers from NES Pro Wrestling 2 and they will join eight new wrestlers as Super Pro Wrestling features 20 wrestlers including the debut of tag teams. The game also includes a VCW World Champion "Unplayable Boss" and VCW World Tag Team Champion "Unplayable Boss".

Gameplay: The VWA and VWF from the first two Pro Wrestling games have combined to form one new promotion, VCW! Emerging from the inaugural tournament as the new VCW Champion was Giant Panther. Giant Panther used rule-breaking tactics and the help of a surprise Keiji Puma to secure the victory over King Slender in the finals and renamed himself Supreme Panther.

Managers!

SNES Pro introduces managers to the game. There are two managers in the VCW, "Tucson Dan" Tussey and Keiji Puma. Puma only manages Supreme Panther and The Bad Vibes while "Tucson Dan" has some lower to mid-card clients.

Super Pro Wrestling also introduces Tag Teams to the fold with The Redflys from Japan and the American tag team The Flex Express, choose one or form your own to challenge for the VCW Tag Team titles against the Tag Champions, The Bad Vibes.

The VCW has a weekly show called VCW Friday Night Slam where most of the action takes place.

*Play-Through Wrestler Order:

When you do the solo player version you will wrestle in 9 matches to earn a shot at the VCW Champion Supreme Panther, then defend your title against 9 wrestlers leading back to a rematch with the prior champion. For the game there are two groups of 9 wrestlers and when you begin you start with one of the two groups assigned at random, so flip a coin ;). After you win the VCW World Title you will begin your title defense by playing through the other group of 9 wrestlers. These two groups of 9 wrestlers are always in the same grouping and wrestler order. The player you selected to play with is always replaced by Redfly#2 in your selected players spot.

Tag Mode: Wrestle your way to the tag titles!

Ok I'm going to list an order/pairing list of eight teams, I know once you pick different pairings some of these teams will be broken up, but for the tag mode play through you will only play against three of these anyway so just use the teams that are still complete for opponents. If you choose The Redflys or The Flex Express as your team, just add a fourth team from the eight to your playthrough. The Tag Title defense is the same order, just three or four random teams and then the Reflys and Express again to finally a title rematch for The Bad Vibes.

If you want to mix up your singles and tag play throughs, when you do your title defense run of matches, instead of having rematches with the original champions, substitute in the Super Famicom Boss versions!

*Super Famicom Boss Versions: The Super Famicom Release of Super Pro Wrestling included different boss wrestlers than the SNES release. Giant Panther is a regular playable character, with Supreme Panther being replaced by Mikado, the pupil of Keiji Puma who uses other wrestlers moves the way Puma did in the original Pro Wrestling. The Bad Vibes are replaced with Rough Customers, two heel cowboys that could be loosly based on the Joel Deaton/Billy Black tag team The Wild Bunch.

*Title Formulas: Supreme Panther and The Bad Vibes have an additional Entrance Attire that includes the VCW World Heavyweight and World Tag Title Belts so that you can use to get the formula to add the belts to other wrestlers entrance attire when they are your champions.
