Getting back in to Hackintosh

Hey guys! It has been a while since I built a hackintosh (think i5 2550k days) and I am thinking of getting back into them. I have a hackintosh running Yosemite, but no other access to a Mac. Is there a way to create an installation USB for mac os ventura with this computer?

I have a Lenovo all in one desktop and a ThinkPad laptop, I may try to get Mac os running on those first.

A few years ago I retrofitted a Power Mac G4 case to accept a full size ATX motherboard, but never got around to buying components. I'd love to fill it with stuff, just not sure what to build.

Updating Os is a bit obscure to me, what should I do before going from Monterey to Ventura ?

Should I set up Time Machine on an internal drive (M2 ssd) where no os is installed ?

Then updating opencore, then kexts, then os ? Is that right ?

So if it fails, or I get stuck, I could go back to Monterey though Time Machine ?

update on my laptop: System uptime for nanoseconds

Hello, i'm back with my Toshiba Satalite. I fixed the issue by checking it with the Sanity Checker, now it shows up a error called "System uptime for nanoseconds" and a bunch of numbers, i already saw many reddit posts here that was using Clover, but here i am using OpenCore, so how do i fix this?

CPU: AMD Ryzen 5 4600G with Radeon Graphics
GPU: AMD Radeon Vega 7 (Integrated)
RAM: 16GB 2666MHz DDR4

If it can, will I get any graphics acceleration using just its integrated graphics? Can I build an offline installer of Big Sur with OpenCore EFI using my HackBook Pro?

If not, why can’t I? What graphics card to get that supports macOS Ventura?

What’s a good boot loader for my entire multi-OS system.

So I currently have Big Sur installed on a drive that’s shared with my windows partition, And I have a separate drive with multiple Linux distros.

I want to configure open core to boot directly into my macOS without any OS picking option, so I can install a prettier bootloader.

Right now open core can see all my different Operating systems but it lacks the ability to fully customize the different boot options and such. So I’d prefer to set my bios to boot into some 3rd party more aesthetic bootloader, which will give me the option to boot windows, macOS (the preprogrammed opencore bootloader, and all my other Linux distros.

If any of y’all know of any easily customizable bootloader’s I’d appreciate those too, thx!

Need Help with OpenCore Boot Issues being stuck on AAPL: #[EB|LOG:EXITBS:START] on acer acer a315-59-53er

I've been experiencing some issues with my OpenCore bootloader and could really use some assistance. The problem I'm facing is that the "operncore" is getting stuck at "256:610 00:411 AAPL: #\[EB|LOG:EXITBS:START\] 2023-05-29T14:36:42".

I've already tried troubleshooting based on the guidelines provided in the OpenCore documentation, specifically on the [**Kernel Issues troubleshooting page**](https://dortania.github.io/OpenCore-Install-Guide/troubleshooting/extended/kernel-issues.html#stuck-on-eb-log-exitbs-start). I followed the steps under the "Booter Issues" section, which are as follows:

1. **DevirtualiseMmio is disabled**
2. **SetupVirtualMap is enabled**

* set EnableWriteUnprotector to Falseand enable RebuildAppleMemoryMapand enabled SyncRuntimePermissions

I hope these troubleshooting steps shed some light on the issues I've been facing. However, I'm still unable to resolve the problem with OpenCore being stuck at the mentioned point during boot.

For reference, my system's chipset is Intel Alder Lake - P PCH.

If anyone has any additional insights, suggestions, or has encountered a similar issue, I would greatly appreciate your help. Thank you in advance!

2nd monitor not working on RX 6600 (DisplayPort)

Hi!

I just installed macOS Big Sur on my desktop, but the 2nd monitor will not connect. Using the patch function in Hackintool gives me an empty DeviceProperties key. My PC Specs are below.

Smbios for i7-11800H (UHD 630)

I downloaded high sierra because I have a 8gb usb drive,and it says “Mac OS X is not supported on this platform everyone says it’s like a smbios that I need.

If someone knows a supported one let me know I tried one with uhd 630 but it didn’t work probably because my cpu is high end.

Intel VS AMD for the future of Hackintosh

greetings. I was wondering if now the focus going forward for Hackintosh enthusiasts should be building AMD rigs instead of Intel. Seems newer AMD chips are becoming compatible with some work vs hard cutoff at 10th gen Intel. Thoughts?

Graphics Acceleration Using NootedRed

I managed to get Big Sur running on my Ryzen PC with following specs -

* ***CPU*** *- Ryzen 7 5700G (Cezzane)*
* ***iGPU*** *- Radeon Vega 8*
* ***dGPU*** *- RTX 3070 Ti*
* ***Motherboard*** *- Asus Tuf Gaming B550 Wifi Plus*
* ***RAM*** *- 16x2 GB DDR4 3600MHz memory (dual channel)*

I followed the Dortania guide to create the USB installer and included all AMD patches as suggested. I also included NootedRed kext to enable my 5700G's iGPU. I also made the following changes in my BIOS -

**What’s working -**

1. Ethernet (RealTek Semiconductor RTL8125 Gaming 2.5GbE)

2. Audio out (ALC1200 codec)

1. Wifi/Bluetooth (MediaTek MT7921 Wi-Fi 6 Wireless Network Adapter)

2. Graphics Acceleration - I ran VDADecoderChecker in terminal and got below error

4. Web browsing (specially videos) is painfully slow and graphics in some apps break a lot

I am yet to try out other aspects/functionalities of MacOS as I want to fix the GPU issue before that.

AMD Laptop USB issue

CPU: Ryzen 5600H

I am having trouble starting mac os because of usb problems, I don't know what they are related to, I tried using USBToolbox and USBMap, it didn't work. My mac os only boots if I turn on the genericusbxhci kext. My laptop has 2 type a 3.1 usb ports and two type c 3.1 ports.

I am using opencore 0.9.2
