Brazil has become a favorite source of new designers, artists, and aesthetic inspiration in general. There is a clear creative voice which, inevitably, has been influenced by industry in the Northern Hemisphere, but stands out more and more as we look for fresh ideas. João Pimenta, who established his eponymous label in 2003, is one such designer looking to champion Brazilian design. He recently presented his Fall/Winter 2014 collection at Sao Paolo Fashion Week, seen here. With an Italian influence, Pimenta plays on proportions and tailoring, adding a distinct charm through splashes of oxblood and texture.
