Gérard Lanvain (which he spells "Lanvin"), born June 21, 1950 in Boulogne-Billancourt, is a French actor.
He dropped from school and started a career in Dinner Theatre shows at the Café de la Gare in Paris alongside Coluche and Martin Lamotte. Coluche helped him get small roles in the late 70s, and he quickly emerged as a household name for "manly" roles in The '80s as a successor of sorts to Jean-Paul Belmondo and Alain Delon at the time. Outside of acting he is also famous for his many no-nonsense and unfiltered rants.
He's also voiced some animated characters in French dubs, including Manny the mammoth in the Ice Age film series and Mr. Incredible in Incredibles 2.
