Peter Dinklage

Peter Dinklage is an American actor, best known for his portrayal of Tyrion Lannister in HBO's "Game of Thrones."

Dinklage was born on June 11, 1969 in New Jersey and has a common form of dwarfism, also known as achondroplasia. After participating in theater productions as a child and teen, Dinklage attended Bennington College, where he received a degree in drama in 1991. After moving to New York City, Dinklage initially struggled to find acting work as he refused to accept stereotypical roles for people with dwarfism.

His breakthrough didn't come until 2003, when he played Finbar McBride in Tom McCarthy's comedy-drama "The Station Agent" and appeared in the Christmas classic "Elf" alongside Will Ferrell. After that, Dinklage went on to have starring roles in "Find Me Guilty" (2006) alongside Vin Diesel and "The Chronicles of Narnia" (2008), as well as appearances in shows like "Nip/Tuck" and "Entourage."

From 2011 to 2019, Dinklage's popularity grew immensely thanks to "Game of Thrones," in which he played Tyrion Lannister, a member of House Lannister. The series earned him four Emmy Awards and a Golden Globe. While on "Game of Thrones," Dinklage's credits also included "X-Men: Days of Future Past" (2014), "The Angry Birds Movie" (2016), "Three Billboards Outside Ebbing, Missouri" (2017), "Three Christs" (2017), "Avengers: Infinity War" (2018), "Cyrano" (2021) and "I Care a Lot" (2021).

Most recently, Dinklage starred in Rebecca Miller's rom-com "She Came to Me," which released in October.
