The best Brazilian kids' book ever.
5 Stars
The best Brazilian kids' book ever.
This book has been around for over 25 years. It's a classic of Brazilian Children's Literature--the story of a Dennis-the-Menace type of boy, who is the smallest, most artistic, most creative kid in his "turma." His soccer team is always happy when he shows up, because he's willing to be the goalie! He makes a mess at home, but his noisy happiness is contagious.Beautifully illustrated, and good for older kids, young adults, and Portuguese students because it presents a lot of great Portuguese sayings, like "abraçar o mundo com as pernas" and "pe de vento."I absolutely adored "O Menino Maluquinho" the first time I read it, and I've read it over and over again through the years. "O Maluquinho" is an adorable rascal, running around with a pot on his head, wearing his dad's shoes and jacket. My Portuguese Professor (at university) taught with this book at the beginning level, because the language is so rich and the illustrations help students to understand.Check out this and other Brazilian books at AtlanticoBooks!
