2014 G Sandy Cohen Verbally Commits To Marquette

This is Alumni Reunion Weekend at Marquette, and while that meant most people thinking about about the school were looking back at their time in college, one Wisconsin native was looking forward to his time in downtown Milwaukee.

Sandy Cohen, a 6'6", 180 lb. guard from Seymour, Wisconsin, gave his verbal commitment to head coach Buzz Williams over the weekend and then announced it to the world via his Twitter account. Cohen's been high on the Golden Eagles ever since he got an official offer this spring (and maybe even further back than that), and back in May, 247Sports.com's Jerry Meyer predicted Cohen would eventually end up in blue & gold. Earlier this month, Cohen had this to say to College Basketball Talk's Rob Dauster earlier this month:

"I really like Marquette," Cohen said during a break at the Kevin Durant Skills Academy. "Right now Marquette’s probably my favorite. I just like the hometown, I really like Coach Buzz Williams, I just really like Marquette as a whole, as a college and everything."

Seymour advanced to the WIAA Division 2 Sectional semifinals this season before falling to eventual state champion Pulaski. Cohen averaged 16.6 points and 7.2 rebounds and was named to the all-Bay Conference first team.

Cohen is currently ranked #70 in the country by ESPN, #93 by Rivals, and #90 by Scout. He joins Malek Harris in MU's recruiting class for the fall of 2014, leaving Buzz Williams two scholarships left to fill to replace the departures of Davante Gardner, Chris Otule, Jake Thomas, and Jamil Wilson.
