The Birdie pendant luminaire from Ingo Maurer is an exceptional luminaire consisting of 12 light bulbs with wings. These are attached to a thin, tinned copper wire, so that they look like glowing birds - especially in the dark. This makes children's rooms, but also living rooms and hallways shine in a mysterious, warm-white light.
Copper wire and goose feathers
The frame of the lamp is made of tinned copper wire, while the wings on the LED bulbs are handmade of real goose feathers. Birdie's twisted rods have also been hand-formed by skilled craftsmen and are available in a variety of colours. You as the user can bend and stretch the rods into their final position.
