‘CSI: Vegas’ Has a Cast With Long-Standing Faves Like Grissom and Sara, but Don’t Discount the Newcomers
Time to meet the new CSI crew before the show premieres tonight.
If you loved '00s procedural dramas, boy do I have news for you: CSI is coming back! After 15 seasons of forensic investigations, the show wrapped back in 2015, but thanks to the good crime show-loving folks at CBS, CSI is returning in a new form: CSI: Vegas.
CSI: Vegas is a sequel limited series that will begin with longstanding favorites Sara Sidle (Jorja Fox) and Gil Grissom (William Petersen) returning to their Vegas crime lab roots. Before the show airs again tonight at 10 p.m. ET on CBS and Paramount+ though, you should get to know the new characters. Not everyone from the original CSI cast is returning (we'll miss you, Eric Szmanda!), which means Grissom and Sara are sharing the screen with a new set of characters...plus David Hodges and Jim Brass, for old times' sake.

Jorja's take on returning to CSI: "Weirdly enough, for me like, getting into Sara Sidle is as easy as putting on a certain jacket, or a certain belt," she told Collider. "I don't know that I would have thought, as an actor, that I would ever experience that. Getting to know a character so long and so well that it's just really easy to sort of go in and out of that."

William's take on returning to CSI: "It was unexpected to be asked to start a new version of this and I sort of jumped at it because of the idea of revisiting [Grissom], especially for me... for us to see who we are now [with Grissom and Sara]. Plus, it's a different world than it was 20 years ago," he told E! News. "The idea of coming back in the land of science, I thought, was really a great opportunity. And it's different because it's 20 years later. It's different because it's all new people too and that's all very exciting."
