I just got a deal on two dead ATVs and one wrecked scooter
with a running GY6 motor, the scooter is missing the front
tire, and I removed all the broken plastic, so its basically
a frame with a motor and rear tire, the ATVs, one is 80%
complete and may run with some repair and parts from
another unit, the other is missing the top end of the motor
and looks pretty rough.

I had wanted to put 6.5HP brigs I have into an old ATV
and use a Comet TAV2 Torq-A-Verter.

But the ATV that is in the best shape is a shaft drive,
and the ATV that is chain drive is in poor shape and
no rear suspension.

I got thinking about cutting the front off of the ATV
that's in poor shape and welding it to the scooter making
a Reverse Trike, that would be easy, simple and cheap,
but I am worried about stability.

I dont want to make something that's going to get me
killed.

The only other option is to try and find a chain sprocket
for that GY6 motor, and they seam to make a sprocket
for some of the mini buggys that use a GY6 motor, but
I am not sure it will fit my scooter motor, and then put
that GY6 motor into that ATV that's in poor shape.

Any ideas ?

OK I will give it a try, Thanks

BTW Here is what I have to work with

The ATV is a 1985 Suzuki LT185, the scooter
is a 2008 MC-46-150 Roketa Jamaica, I think,
it did have MC-46-150 on it and looks like the
Roketa, BTW the quality of the scooter was pretty
good, other than the front wheel and broken plastic
it would still have been usable, I did have to clean
the carburetor, and change the oil, it had lost some
from laying on its side, but it seems well made :)

I think they use tilt steering or what ever its called, it would
hard to set that up on an ATV.

I am still worried about stability, but I think with the small
size of the motor and my weight of 250lb its not going to go
very fast, and I tend to go slow anyway, I also think as long
as I keep my weight close to the two front tires I should be
OK, at least I hope

I think it would work fine. The only thing I would check before cutting is seeing the difference between the width of both frames and then going from there. You may have to change the wheels on the front, or the rear because they look to be different sizes. For my go kart that I'm working on, we're using the front and rear suspension from a 4 wheeler and my friend and I had to completely engineer the way the front end met to the existing go kart frame. By the looks of it, I'd rather have the 4 wheeler you have because the springs and shocks aren't as tall as mine. Next we're re-engineering the rear and making a swing arm.

What you're doing isn't anything too difficult, you'll just have to do some cutting and welding. It looks like a fun project.

Im building a reverse trike.the go kart is a trial run for a honda 1800cc gold wing motor from your picks it looks like you could widen the stance of the 4 wheeler pretty easy a wide track would make its more stable

I wet out an removed all the parts from the Suzuki LT185
that were not needed, I was fighting red wasps all day, the
ATV had 10 wasp nests, unfortunately only three were small
nests :censored:

It took about 6 hours, with the rusted bolts, striped nuts,
and running from wasps LOL

I placed the scooter behind and ATV in front, to
simulate / visualize what it might look like.
