Tuning World Bodensee 2022

BACK TO OVERVIEW

It's that time again. At last, one of the fixtures in the world of cars, tuning, and lifestyle is back. This year's mega event took place between 26th and 29th of May, as usual, in Friedrichshafen. We were right there to gaze in amazement at the many gems.

After the mandatory pandemic hiatus, the European tuning community was feverishly awaiting the four exhibition days, serving up a grand menu: With the European Tuning Showdown, a significantly bigger Style Mile, the Polo Dome and fully booked club halls, more than 1,500 show cars and 850 visitors from industry, the event sector and scene came together at Lake Constance.

“The Tuning World Bodensee stands for fun, action, people coming together, and the love for automobiles. After a two-year coronavirus hiatus, we can feel that the exhibition’s fans have been waiting for a re-start, that the community stands firmly behind us, fully fired up for the event”, Managing Director of Messe Friedrichshafen, Klaus Wellmann, describes the mood.

Tuning World Bodensee turns 18

Project director Dirk Kreidenweiß sums up the good vibes: “Carried by the support of the tuning community, Europe’s largest tuning event is back. This year, we’re catching up on the Tuning World Bodensee having turned 18, and we’re very pleased that exhibitors from the accessories sector and tuning industry, clubs and the community have a strong presence once again – featuring more cars on the premises than ever before.”

After a two-year forced break, the most important thing at the Tuning World Bodensee was to see and meet the European community again. The anticipation was huge.

Headlights on for cool tuning rides:

This year, the Miss Tuning Competition was replaced by sports cars going against each other. While the key visual of the TUNING WORLD BODENSEE had always been graced by a woman since 2003, in 2022 a tuned sportscar posed for and promoted the exhibition event at Lake Constance.

“We’re moving with the times, giving priority to tuning automobiles in all their facets. Currently, female empowerment is becoming increasingly more important, which is why we are fine-tuning the look of the Tuning World Bodensee”, explains project director Dirk Kreidenweiß. She is leading the way: From Car Girl to entrepreneur. In 2017, Mareike Fox launched the Foxed Store, making a name for herself in the scene as a fashion label for automotive street fashion. Now, her label expanded its range by including premium care products for motor vehicles under the name Foxed.care. This proves once again that cars are no longer just a man’s hobby.

Visitors couldn’t take their eyes off the hottest cars of the year at the Showdown and Style Mile. At Europe’s most renowned Show and Shine competition, like every year, premium modifications competed against each other. The coolest community cars were again showcased at the Private Car Area. Our Team Rider Benjamin was there with his BMW F36 and the DOTZ Tanaka dark, as was Nici with her BMW E90 and the Revvo dark. The car was once again one of the crowd pullers par excellence! Soon there will be more of Benjamin's F36 to see. Stay tuned!

We were especially pleased to talk shop with Hendrik and his wife. The family came all the way from Sweden, having travelled 26 hours, with their Volvo on the car trailer. They displayed their fully modified Volvo V70N RWD featuring the Suzuka black. During the press tour, this ride was introduced individually and showcased. The car convinces onlookers with its cleaned and maximum performance enhanced turbo engine.

Down to the rear-wheel drive, Henrik Mattsson has rebuilt everything putting in a lot of effort. The Swede is no stranger to the ETS scene, having been runner-up with his modified Volvo V70 in 2018. This year Hendrik even emerged as the winner of the European Tuning Showdown! We congratulate warmly!
