Schalke president Clemens Tonnies wants Raul to stay at the club after his contract expires next summer.
The Spain and Real Madrid legend, 34, has been linked with moves to England and back to La Liga ever since he moved to Gelsenkirchen at the start of last season, with Blackburn Rovers claiming interest in the summer transfer window.
But he vowed to stay at Schalke and, amidst further speculation of a January move, Tonnies insisted his charge would remain in Germany - hopefully beyond his existing deal.
"Such an experienced player is very important for our young team and he proves that in every game," Tonnies told Bild. "He is incredibly endearing. I have made it absolutely clear to him that he belongs with Schalke.
"We are proud for every minute Raul plays in a Schalke shirt.
"When somebody plays good football, gets involved and identifies himself with the club, then there is nothing to say you should not continue with him.
"Financially, we can afford Raul. We have such a solid financial base that we would not have any difficulties even if we don't qualify for Europe."
