Garfield was recently made a playable character in Nickelodeon All-Star Brawl via free DLC. By throwing pie and setting Pooky the teddy bear, Garfield is shown to be quite an effective trap character during the Garfield showcase.

Leading up to today, there were a few rumors circulating among fans that Garfield would be locked in Nickelodeon All-Star Brawl on Modays, preventing him from being chosen and played. Lo and behold, today is Monday and Garfield can still be selected. The rumor has now been disconfirmed.

The theme of Monday being a bad day is a prevalent theme in the Garfield series. Garfield just thinking about Mondays ended up becoming an attack for him during gameplay in the form of "Thrashing Thoughts."

Canonically speaking, it would actually make sense for this lazy cat to refuse to partake in Nickelodeon All-Star Brawl matches every Monday.

However, this would not necessarily be a good thing from a gameplay perspective. It would certainly be unfair to lock players out of playing this character at certain times if they wanted to dedicate the time towards maining him. Furthermore, this would also cause issues for tournament organizers in the event an event was held on a Monday.

What's funny is that this rumor circulated enough to catch the attention of GameMill Entertainment, one of the companies behind the development of Nickelodeon All-Star Brawl. They've released a comment that puts the rumor to rest, once and for all.

"Just to confirm in case there was any confusion – you can absolutely play as Garfield in Nickelodeon All-Star Brawl today and every Monday moving forward," said GameMill Entertainment.
