My first attempt at a pokemon subspecies in a long while, and the first one that I've uploaded on FA! Really excited about the hyper-domesticated sub-breed concept! So here they are- the Anjose chikorita line! I took a lot of inspiration from chikorita's original pear shape and chicory influence, shifting them to a more red anjou pear-like figure and color, with rosehips as the chicory equivilant. Its fruits are lovely to eat raw, cooked, brewed into tea, or baked into pies and other sweets!
Here's the description from the image in a less condensed format;
[A sweet aroma radiates from the berries of the Anjose Chikorita line. When the medicinal properties of Chikorita and Bayleef leaves were discovered, farmers and herbalists began breeding this subspecies with heightened fruit-bearing capabilities in mind. Through decades of thorough domestication, it's become a beloved staple of farmlands, grocery stores, and classrooms alike. A docile temperament and stout figure have developed as the quadruped finds itself more weighed down by the sweet, nutrient-filled fruits it produces. They require frequent harvesting and pruning to maintain good health, and feral varieties have been noted to become incredibly overgrown without human intervention. They maintain a herbivorous diet consisting largely of berries and grains. Traditionally, one will find these pokemon with the ability of natural cure, though thick fat has rarely been noted.]
