Fans were excited to see Mr. and Mrs. Affleck together at the 2023 Grammys, but the internet was quick to notice that Ben Affleck did not exactly look happy to be there. However, despite the viral videos and memes, J.Lo has assured fans that she and her husband had the “best time” at the awards ceremony.
Throughout the nearly four-hour telecast, every time the camera panned to their seats in the audience, Affleck looked like he'd rather be anywhere else. Even during Stevie Wonder's set, the actor's expression was more Sad Dad Outside Dunkin’ Donuts than a guy in the front row at “music's biggest night.” But maybe that's just his face, because Jen posted an Instagram Reel of images and videos from the night with the caption, “Always the best time with my love, my husband.”

Jennifer Lopez did not, in case you were wondering, comment on the moment when she and Affleck appeared to be having some sort of testy exchange while host Trevor Noah delivered a joke. Affleck can be seen whispering something in Lopez's ear, and she reacts with a sharp turn and a soft pat on his chest before noticing the cameras and smiling widely.
Other clips from the ceremony that went viral on Twitter show Affleck's low-energy dancing and strained facial expressions. “Ben Affleck is so consistent in his misery I almost have to admire it,” one person tweeted. Another wrote, “Ben Affleck is every introvert everywhere. You can see his batteries draining in real-time. Man is already at 23%.”
After all, we can't all be as peppy at awards ceremonies as Taylor Swift.
