Adrien Brody Just Ignored a Cardinal Grooming Rule

Adrien Brody, like Ed Westwick or Mark Ronson, definitely has what you might call a smooth-operator vibe. He’s a fan of shiny-fabric suits, statement leather jackets, and fashion scarves. While his style might be overkill to some, we think it has, generally speaking, its own kind of DGAF charm. But even we have our limits, and sporting a high, wet-effect ponytail and a pencil-thin mustache at the same time is one of them.

As a general rule, we think it’s best to limit yourself to one extreme grooming move at a time. Do a creep-tastic mustache on Tuesday, then shave it off and rock a sweaty ponytail on Wednesday. Or divide the two moves into distinct grooming phases, like “’70s porn star” for spring and “professional soccer player from Europe” for summer or whatever. Two at once is just too much pizzazz for the public to handle, and if you don’t happen to be as rich or famous as Adrien Brody, it might not come off that well.
