Sister goals, movie star goals, fashion goals—as if we weren’t already obsessed with the Fanning sisters, we just got a glimpse into their super close relationship, thanks to a new post Dakota shared in honor of younger sister Elle’s 26th birthday.

To commemorate the star of The Great’s latest trip around the sun, her elder sibling shared a gushing message that read: “The best thing that has ever happened to me is being given Elle as my sister. 26 today. With every passing year, my gratitude for her deepens, even when it feels like that couldn’t be possible. She is magic, and I’m so lucky that she is mine. Thank you for always indulging me when I tell you how hungry I am, and then list the 72 things I’ve eaten that day. I love you so much @ellefanning ! 📸: @myleshendrik.”

If that caption didn’t already make your heart swell like the Grinch’s on Christmas, then Dakota’s photo sure will. It sees her and her sister hugging tightly (and looking like twins) as they pose for the camera. In the image, Dakota wears a spaghetti-strap sequin dress in a pale yellow, while Elle sports a pitch-black plunging gown.

The sweetness continued in the comments section, where Elle wrote, “I love you more than anything❣️.” And in reference to her sister’s eating habits, she added a jokingly hypothetical quote, which read, “I’m starving!!! All I’ve had today was a bit of yogurt, 3 tortilla chips, a roll-up, a few crackers with cheese, an entire rotisserie chicken, and a plate of pasta….”

In the past, the two have starred together in the miniseries Taken and the film I Am Sam, in which Elle played the younger version of her sister’s characters. They each provided voice work for the English dub of My Neighbor Totoro, as well. Now, both are slated to star in the upcoming film adaptation of Kristin Hannah’s The Nightingale, though the movie has experienced a series of production delays.
