Inscribed photograph signed "For/Jeff-Best wishes/George Peppard". B/w, 4¾x6¾ overall, 4¼x6¼ image, one surface. Typed on rear: "New TV series: 'Doctors' Hospital". Peppard also had a regular role as Dr. Jake Goodwin on Doctors' Hospital (1975-1976). Stage, screen and television actor Peppard (1928-1994, born in Detroit, Michigan) made his television debut in 1956 on The United States Steel Hour, and he would go on to appear on the small screen in a long list of series, including his best known roles, Polish American detective Thomas Banacek on Banacek (1972-1974) and Colonel John "Hannibal" Smith on The A-Team (1983-1987). He also appeared as a guest star on several TV series and was in a number of made-for-TV movies. A handsome and suave leading man, Peppard made his film debut in 1957's The Strange One, and he starred in such features as Pork Chop Hill (1959), Home from the Hill (1960), Breakfast at Tiffany's (1961), How the West Was Won (1962), The Victors (1963), The Carpetbaggers (1964), Operation Crossbow (1965), The Blue Max (1966), Tobruk (1967), What's So Bad About Feeling Good? (1968), The Executioner (1970) and Ultra Warrior (1990). Peppard's second wife (1966-1972) was actress Elizabeth Ashley, with whom he had a son, writer Christian Peppard. Lightly bowed. Light impressions on image (not visible head-on). Errors in negative were reproduced in photo. Otherwise in fine condition.
