Serguei in stories and colors
Colorful and noisy documentary on controversial (but widely beloved and good-hearted) rock n' roll celebrity Serguei. Its edition, with special effects and animation, an the gags in its presentations seem an attempt to reproduce irreverence and psychedelia that characterize Seguei himself. The many testimonies are not equally interesting (although some of them brought incredible stories), and the connections betweem them are not as fluid as desirable (pace is also irregular). Anyway, Serguei is an interesting character for a documentary and the film has some narrative innovations. The concert scenes (either with Serguei or with Janis Joplin singing) are great. There is obviously a significant part of the film that is directed to discussing his multifaceted sexuality.
