This first started out as a research paper about any designer throughout history. I chose to do research on Saul Bass because he was both a graphic designer and a filmmaker. I found his work to be intriguing and distinguishable compared to other designers at the time. Throughout my research the more that I learned about his work in both design and filmmaking the more that I became inspired by him and his stylistic choices.

Behind The Design

One of the first goals that I had for this project was to incorporate the same art style as the film posters that I chose to be in the article. I accomplished this by utilizing similar colors that are found in the posters, the rectangles, and the abstract hand. These designs can be seen throughout the entire magazine layout, but my favorite is the cover. What I like about the cover is how I was able to use the abstract hand and change it so that it was pointing towards the direction of the article.
