Ever met somebody whose work is present in MoMA New York? As an agency guy, I am privileged to meet creatives that make an impact. Recently I talked to Axel Schmid, head of Product + Project Design at Ingo Maurer GmbH.  A short throwback: In 2018 I was lucky to be selected by Ingo himself, to co-write the new Catalogue (preface and many, many, many headlines) with him. For two weeks we started at 10 a.m. and worked until 10 p.m. and he was still ready to end the day at Klaus St. Rainers legendary Goldene Bar. Soft #opening: Munich underground station with Ingo Maurer lighting design. "After almost seven years of construction, the mezzanine floor of the underground station with shopping arcade has been opened. The escalators there are among the longest in Munich's public transport system. The new look with the black ceilings and the lighting concept by Ingo Maurer is very #modern. The draft for the remodelling came from the architects of Raupach Architekten. Although the renovation of the Sendlinger Tor underground station is not yet complete, Stadtwerke München GmbH and Münchner Verkehrsgesellschaft mbH (MVG) inaugurated the mezzanine floor." Thanks to journalist Andreas Schubert from Süddeutsche Zeitung for mentioning and highlighting our work at one of Munich's most important transport hubs, which was very exciting as a local lighting design company. We are already looking forward to the full completion of the work, which is planned for mid-2024, and will then report again in detail on the "Sendlinger Tor" project.
