Letter: Quran burning idea could have dangerous negative impact on our soldiers serving overseas

The Rev. Terry Jones of the Dove World Outreach Center in Gainesville, Fla., has created news recently with his intent to burn copies of the Quran on Saturday in protest to the building of the Muslim Center in Manhattan.

He is doing so without regard to the dangerous negative impact it will have on Muslim countries in which our armed forces currently serve.  Perhaps he and his followers are constitutionally protected to perform such acts. However, in my eyes, it is simply a treasonous act.

While our brave service people are already involved in day-to-day deadly missions with no end in sight, this alleged reverend is throwing gas on an already flammable situation.  Mr. Jones and his ill-led flock are to Christianity what al-Qaida is to Islam.
