I look at old maps, usually 3-4 from a time period, and then I create my own as if I were the cartographer of record during that period. I try to make my work look good from across the room as well as up close. This map shows Florida and its coastal settlements at the end of the Civil War c.1865. Each limited edition print is hand aged by soaking in staining solutions, crumpling, ironing back out, tearing edges, touching up damage, signing, and numbering. Small size comes temporarily mounted and shrink wrapped on black foam board. Large prints and international orders will ship in a tube.
