the whole condition. As the name suggests the writer’s cramp is a disorder causing
spasmand cramps of muscles of the hand or forearm. It is also known as
scrivener’s palsy or mogiographia. Writer’s cramp is a type of focal dystonia that
is due to a disorder of neurological movement.
The dystonia is a disorder of the muscles, unable to control the movements. It
causes tremors, abnormal postures, and slow repetitive movements.
Writer’s cramp is common in bothmen and women that usually affect the ages of
30 to 50 years. The cramps and ache of the hand are not as much common but mild
discomfort may be seen in the forearm, wrist, or fingers.
