RICARDO RIBEIRO PORTRAIT FOR CD COVER AND PROMOTIONFado is, to a large extent, a feeling, and that, guarantees Ricardo Ribeiro, will not be lacking in the two concerts that he will star, this weekend, at Teatro das Figuras, in Faro, and at the Tempo-Teatro Municipal de Portimão.

The renowned fado singer will be on Friday (November 21) in Portimão and heads to Faro on Saturday (22), with shows scheduled for 21:30 pm, in both locations.

At the base of these two concerts will be Ricardo Ribeiro's most recent album "Largo da Memória", released in 2013, but there will be no lack of other successful songs by the fado singer, namely from the album "Porta do Coração", with which he achieved the record of gold in 2012.

Despite performing in two locations in the region, two shows are not to be expected alike. “Concerts are always what we feel the audience wants. I always try to tune in to the audience. Of course I have a pre-defined alignment, but I end up changing it, almost always», revealed Ricardo Ribeiro, in an interview with Sul Informação.

What can certainly be counted on is Ricardo Ribeiro's “truth”. “The public can expect my truth, emotion and all that I have to offer genuinely”, he promised. In attendance will also be readers of the Sul Informação, which will offer tickets for both shows, in pastimes to be launched from this Wednesday.

Ricardo Ribeiro returns to the Algarve shortly after filling two of the country's most important concert halls, the Centro Cultural de Belém, in Lisbon, and the Casa da Música, in Porto, and having performed in a packed hall in New York, at the Elebash Center.

“I can't complain! I have been cherished by the audience and also by older fadistas, who have always supported me. I have worked in houses that are almost always full and this inspires me to work more and more», he assured.

Ricardo Ribeiro: “I keep the essence of fado, I've never lost it. This I will always keep, it is part of my blood"

Ricardo Ribeiro had many Portuguese masters, great figures of Fado who taught him since he entered this world, when he was still a child. A life of fado, but not only that, as the musician is not afraid to accept new challenges.

The best example is the collaboration he had with the renowned Lebanese musician and instrumentalist Rabih Abou-Khalil, with whom he edited the album «Em Português», in 2008. An experience that, he doesn't hide, left a deep impression on him. “It's been nine years, in November this year, since we started working together. It took nine years to sing music that I thought I would never be able to sing», revealed Ricardo Ribeiro.

“I have a very special affection for Rabih Abou-Khalil. There are people who change us», in this case, for the better, he considered. «I changed, in a way, because I discovered new things. But I keep the essence of fado, I never lost it. That I will always keep, it is part of my blood», he guaranteed.

Ricardo Ribeiro will take the stage accompanied by Pedro Castro, on Portuguese guitar, by Jaime Santos, on fado guitar, and Francisco Gaspar, on bass guitar.

In Portimão, tickets cost 15 euros, with a 20% discount for Montepio members and a companion. In Faro, cost 15 euros for the first audience and 10 euros for the second.
