Debby Ryan would like you to know that she is very much alive, even though some fans don't think so.

After the death of the iconic star Debbie Reynolds, some very confused and misguided fans began to mourn Debby on social media. As the actress and producer is, indeed, still alive, having fans tag her in "RIP Debby Ryan" posts must have freaked out the former Disney star. And, as the world was still mourning the loss of both Debbie Reynolds and her daughter, Carrie Fisher, this case of mistaken identity was more inappropriate than funny mix up.

and many more.

While comparison isn't what we aim to do here, there is one commonality between Debby Ryan and Debbie Reynolds that's worthy of a mention. Both are technically Disney stars: you might remember Reynolds from Disney Channel's Halloweentown movies, in which she played Marnie's magical witch grandmother. Although that role may seem frivolous when compared to the rest of Reynolds' resume, it was a performance that inspired many young people to embrace their own weirdo magic. As Kimberly Brown, the actress who played Marnie, wrote in a post mourning Reynolds, "'Being normal is vastly overrated' is a quote from Halloweentown, and how fitting it is that her character spoke it. Her generosity, talent, and loving spirit made her anything but normal. Thanks for the magic, Debbie. Rest in peace."
