Could Lady Gaga be making her way to Nevermore? Jenna Ortega just got candid about Mother Monster’s potential involvement in Wednesday on the Golden Globes 2023 red carpet, and all signs point to maybe.

Let’s recap a little. If you were one of the millions to watch the Netflix hit show when it premiered on the streaming site last year, you’d surely remember a certain dance scene. On the show, it’s The Cramps’ “Goo Goo Muck” that serves as the background for Jenna Ortega’s self-choreographed routine, but a different song has taken the spotlight on the adjacent TikTok dance challenge: Lady Gaga’s “Bloody Mary.”

Everyone from North West to Lady Gaga herself has tried their hand at the challenge — pun very much intended — and, of course, its popularity has given rise to considerable speculation, with some manifesting a cameo from Gaga herself now that season two of the Netflix hit series is officially confirmed.

On January 10, Variety took the chance and asked Jenna about Gaga’s potential involvement in the series’s forthcoming season, and the leading star seems hopeful that something could happen. “I’m sure Netflix would love that,” Jenna said, even going as far as discussing what role Lady Gaga could play on the show. “Miss Thornhill and Wednesday have this weird kind of mentor relationship or understood each other in a certain way, so if Lady Gaga were to be a part of [Wednesday], they’d have to be two monsters who understand each other.”

While speaking to Variety, Jenna also opened up about Gaga’s now-viral Wednesday-inspired TikTok, describing the crossover as “really strange,” and shared how this isn’t the first time the two stars’ paths have crossed. “You know what’s funny? A long time ago, I worked with a hairdresser that worked with her. I just had seen Lady Gaga in concert in Boston a couple of years before and she had just made me a video saying, ‘Hey, Jenna! I heard you are a fan!’ It was a really, really sweet video. I doubt she remembers or has any idea who I was back then, but to see her do that now, it’s one of those moments [where] you acknowledge life changes really fast.”

While Jenna admitted she has “no contact whatsoever” with Lady Gaga as of now, that could change any minute. (We’ve all witnessed social media’s power!)
