Destino Pacha Ibiza Resort

Talamanca, Ibiza, Spain

A sprawling complex on a clifftop overlooking Ibiza town, Destino is part of the Pacha family – otherwise known as White Isle clubbing royalty. Party-goers come to have world-class DJs performing on their doorstep, with spa treatments and spectacular views thrown in for good measure.

Location

8 / 10

A short drive away from several local hotspots – the lovely little town of Jesus; the picturesque beach of Talamanca Bay; the razzmatazz of Marina Botafoch – the hotel is well positioned for sliding straight into island life. That said, it’s also a destination in its own right, thanks to weekly open-air gigs featuring the crème de la crème of superstar DJs. Ibiza town is 10 minutes away by car; the airport a further five.

Style and Character

7 / 10

Designed with jet-setting clubbers in mind, music is played all day long, and while that might not be everyone’s cup of tea, there are plenty of other distractions. Some cabanas and sun loungers look out to sea, while others line the genuinely stunning pool; as does the hotel’s restaurant, and several bars, if all else fails. The surrounding gardens are also beautiful. Guests here tend to be primped, primed and preened, so come with the resolve to posture among the best of them – and bring sunglasses to surreptitiously admire the show.

Service and Facilities

8 / 10

There’s a lot on offer here: an on-site spa, a restaurant serving excellent food, an underground club, an open-air events space, a pool with adjoining whirlpool, yoga rooms, poolside bars – you get the idea. And of course, it’s all to satisfy the VIP clientele that Ibiza has become synonymous with, so nods to luxury abound. Staff buzz about the place at all hours, and while the majority are helpful, simple requests can occasionally be unnecessarily complicated.

Rooms

7 / 10

There are six categories of rooms and suites. Guest rooms are surprisingly basic, with little in the way of distinguishing features, although the beds are comfortable and some balconies have sea views. Superior suites have private pools for splashing around in. The good news is that access to all the hotel’s music events are included in the room price, so the likelihood is you’ll spend more time dancing than sleeping anyway.

Food and Drink

8 / 10

Breakfast is a substantial buffet offering all the usual favourites alongside a few more health-conscious options, like chia seed pudding and quinoa salad. At night, the restaurant transforms into D-Lounge, where the menu fuses Japanese cuisine – including sushi and sashimi – with dishes such as sea bass and Wagyu steak cooked on the Josper grill.

Value for Money

Standard rooms from €150 (£127) in low season; and from €500 (£424) in high. Breakfast €30 (£25). Free Wi-Fi.

There are six accessible rooms for guests with disabilities.

Family-Friendly?

Children over the age of 16 are permitted, but to attend music events they must be over 18.
