A few years ago, glimmer eyeliners were a big trend, every other girl would line her eyes with these pretty and bright colors and I wanted to try one too. And in my quest for the perfect liner, the one that doesn t smudge, lasts longer, the one that is not too shiny and the one that is not too bright either, I tried many different products. The Lakme Forever Silk Eyeliner, one from Chambor, whose name I don t recollect, one liquid eyeliner from Revlon, I tried all these, and all of them failed to impress me. I had bought the Lakme one over two years ago and still have it because I stopped using it immediately. My eyes would water whenever I used it over my eyes or under the and I would end looking like I just cried.

Then I stumbled on this awesome brand called Avon and fell in love with their Glimmersticks. I have been using them for two years now and haven t been disappointed even once. I have many colleagues who have asked me about this, they haven t been disappointed either.

Why I prefer Avon Glimmersticks to other eyeliners

The colour: The Glimmersticks come in eight different shades like Cobalt Blue, Purple Punch, Boldest Black, Turquoise Blue, Bronze Glow, Emerald, Blackest Black and Starry Night Blue. I use the Starry Night Blue liner. It s a deep dark blue that is not too bright, but just bright enough to not pass as black. It s not too shiny either with just has the right level of glitter, which makes it easy to wear during the day too.

How long it lasts: Another reason I love these sticks is that they last for around eight hours. However, Avon claims that it lasts for 12 hours. But, if you are not like me and don t rub your eyes hundred times a day, the eyeliner may last longer. Also, it is water-proof and doesn t smudge nor does it spread under the eye giving you dark circles for no reason.

Cost: The Glimmersticks are not too expensive and are total VFM (value for money). They cost 269 Rs for 0.28g, the standard weight of any other eye liner.

No side effects: Unlike other products I have used, I have never had a reaction to these Glimmersticks. My eyes don t water, nor do they become red and neither do my eyes feel heavy.

The biggest drawback

Now Avon products are not easily available, by that I mean, you can t just go to the market and buy an Avon product. You have to get in touch with their network marketing representative to place your order and then you get your product within two weeks. You cannot place the order directly and have to depend on the representative.

Should you buy Avon Glimmersticks?

Without a doubt! I have tried their other products like nail paints, moisturisers and concealers and foundations and haven t been disappointed yet.
