Back when the Super Bowl set up shop in Minneapolis, a project called “St. Paul Cozy” adorned the light poles from Lowertown to Rice Park with yarn creations.

The “yarn bomb” was a soft, colorful success.

The group is back with a spring yarn bombing in Lowertown to coincide with the St. Paul Art Crawl and the Farmers’ Market opener.

A group of lamppost cozy veterans who live or work in downtown St. Paul were asked to make yarn floral arrangements and Dr. Seuss-inspired plants and creatures. The project won’t cover as much turf as the 2018 yarn bomb, but it will be “delightfully cute and a little weird,” Rachel Wacker, one of the project coordinators, said in an email.

The arrangement will be installed along Fourth Street from Wacouta to Broadway, and on Broadway from Kellogg to Prince. The project is expected to be up until April 29.
