KARL LAGERFELD'S latest Chanel Cruise collection did not disappoint his loyal celebrity following following its showcase on Monday in Saint-Tropez - and no one could have been left feeling more impressed that current brand ambassador Blake Lively.

"Every piece just made me smile," she says. "My mood was every single bit of that collection. The hardest part was thinking 'I want to wear every single thing here.' I never thought I'd be able to come to a Chanel fashion show, let alone be here working with them and be stood here wearing Chanel couture. This is so special."

Attended by Alexa Chung, Laura Bailey, Vanessa Paradis and Lily Donaldson, the show was followed by a chic after party with music from Bryan Ferry - documented by the Vogue team here. For Lagerfeld himself the event was still very much all about clothes and Chanel's unwavering modern-day elegance.

"In the October pret-a-porter collection I did Chanel jackets melded with men's clothes," he explains. "Here I did men's shirts melded with feminine clothes. It is the male-female ambiguity, a theme I like a lot."

Clémence Poésy summed up the iconic fashion house simply.
"It does not age," she says. "Few things are like that. There is Charlie Chaplain, the Beatles and then Chanel."
