Carolina Herrera took her final bow at her show at New York Fashion Week, Monday February 12. After 37 years as the head of creative direction of her namesake fashion house, this show marked the end of the Venezuelan designer’s time in this role, but not the end of her career. She will now be moving to the role of international ambassador for the brand making way for Wes Gordon, who will take over as head of creative direction. A Central Saint Martins graduate, the young designer launched his own namesake womenswear brand after his graduation, but abandoned it to focus on his role as a consultant for Carolina Herrera, which he joined a year ago. Wes Gordon will show his first ever collection as creative director in 2018, for the company’s 2019 Cruise collection.
