It's no secret that The Witcher — books, video games, other media — is a source of great pride in Poland, and for good reason. So when word passed that Poland was issuing a stamp paying homage to The Witcher, with the implacable glare of Geralt staring at thousands of bill-payers and card-openers, my first thought was "They didn't already?"

The news passed on Thursday over Twitter from the lead designer on Gwent. And yes, this is a Poctza Polska stamp — the state postal service — not some collectible made by a private company like the Polish version of the Franklin Mint. This postage is valid for the mail. It will be printed in a limited run; postal services make money on collectibles, too.

The stamp is of Geralt of Rivia only; the card surrounding it mentions The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt. It's a 6-zloty denomination (roughly $1.55 US). This eBayer is already listing it for $7.98 ($0.99 plus $6.99 shipping).
