Maria Sharapova has continued her feud with Eugenie Bouchard by liking a tweet mocking her Canadian rival.

Bouchard called the Russian “a cheater” before beating her in a grudge match at the Madrid Open on Monday night.

A Sharapova fan yesterday posted on Twitter a fake book cover showing bouchard with the title: Insufferable, My Life So Far – I Wish I Was Maria Sharapova – to the approval of the 2004 Wimbledon winner.

The five-time Grand Slam champion will publish her own book Unstoppable, My Life So Far in September.

Bouchard won through to the quarter-finals in the Spanish capital when No 1 seed Angelique Kerber quit with an injury with 0-5 down in the second set.

"I was inspired because I had a lot of players coming up to me privately, wishing me good luck," said Bouchard after beating Sharapova.

"They were players I don't normally speak to and I got a lot of texts from people in the tennis world that were just rooting for me. I wanted to do it for myself, but also for all these people."
