Guerlain expands makeup range with light-inspired Météorites powder, eyeshadow and lip balm

For the first time, Guerlain has refreshed the formula for its Météroites power pearls, which are now made with 95% natural-origin ingredients

Luxury French beauty house Guerlain has launched a refreshed, natural-origin formulation for its Météorites powder pearls. It launched in global travel retail on 4 March.

The Météorites, first launched in 1987, combine ‘all powders into one powder’. Made with 95% natural-origin ingredients, the Météorites formula has been reinvented with an ultra-light texture centred on a complex comprising two types of mother-of-pearls.

The first is a sparkling mother-of-pearl which create a multi-dimensional radiance by reflecting natural light in every direction. The second is a silver light mother-of-pearl which radiates light naturally over time.

Both mother-of-pearls come together to boost skin radiance, mattify the skin and correct the complexion for up to 12 hours.

The revamped Météorites formulation has been infused with a new fragrance created by Guerlain Perfumer Delphine Jelk and Guerlain Makeup Creative Director Violette Serra. The scent features a floral heart with musk, sandalwood and vanilla notes.

Météorites is available in four shades: Cool/Rosé, Warm/Doré, Amber and Pearly White. The latter was developed around a white colour to give a pure glow and luminosity.

The design of the Météroites pot is inspired by a jar once owned by Marie Antoinette

Violette commented: “For a complexion with a made-to-measure glow, I’ve precisely chosen the different colours of Météorites pearls, taking into account the undertones and subtle variations on shades that characterise each type of skin tone.”

The revamped Météorites are housed in a new case which pays homage to the original case inspired by Queen Marie Antoinette’s compact in 1770.

The modernised design features floral patterns on the lid and the box, while the Guerlain logo features in golden letters. It comes with a puff decorated with a pink logo ribbon. Guerlain has also designed a specific kabuki brush to apply the pearls.

Drawing from the Météorites concept of light diffraction, Guerlain has released an Ombres G eyeshadow and Kiss Kiss Bee Glow Lip Balm to complete the Météorites beauty look.

The Ombres G Aura Glow eyeshadow is a palette of four shades with an iridescent finish. These include two shades with a shifting shimmer that allows different reflections depending on the direction of light.

The Kiss Kiss Bee Glow Pop Rose Glow lip balm is formulated with 98% naturally derived ingredients and comes in an intense shade of pink. ✈
