Bio
The lone senior on a young Ragin’ Cajuns squad, Alan-Michael Thompson will take on an additional leadership role this season. One of the squad’s top reserves a year ago, he should move into a starting spot at off-guard, a move that will allow the underclass-heavy team to fully utilize his experience. An adept scorer, his quickness has helped to make him extremely efficient in the lane, especially off the dribble, while his shooting range continues to improve. He will also be counted on to be one of the team’s defensive stoppers, passing on the defensive work ethic that is expected to his teammates.
2011-12 (junior)
• Key contributor off the bench, averaging 3.9 points in 10.3 minutes a game.
• Was one of three players to see action in all 32 games, earning a start at Robert Morris (Dec. 17).
• Recorded four double-figure scoring games, including a career-high 16 points in a career-high 23 minutes vs. Dillard (Dec. 12).
• Tallied 14 points, going five-for-seven from the field and three-for-four from three-point, in win at UALR (Jan. 19).
• Came off the bench to score 11 points vs. Rice in the Insider.com Tournament.
Junior College
• Career scoring leader at Brunswick Community College (Bolivia, N.C.), tallying 1,027 points in two seasons.
• All-region selection in each of his two seasons.
• Averaged 15.7 points, 2.7 rebounds and 1.6 assists as a sophomore, shooting .455 from three-point (56-of-123) and 86-percent at the free throw line.
• Debuted at BCC by averaging 15.6 points and helping team to the NJCAA Division I national tournament and earning Junior College All-America honors.
• Rated the No. 115 best junior college player by JucoJunction.com.

• One of five players from his Wilson High squad to play collegiately.
• Helped team to the state Class 3A title as a senior.
